Working on Martha's Vineyard
Monica Miller has been an herbalist and aromatherapist for 18 years on Martha's Vineyard. She calls herself a "perfume pharmer" because she grows flowers to make her perfumes.

Q. Who do you work for?
A. Well right now I'm working for Martha's Vineyard Honey Company at the Farmers Market. But I also have different websites like Skye Botanicals and Perfume Pharmer. So I work under different names.

A. I had to invent something because I had two little kids and I wanted to be at home. I wasn't going to go out to work like that.
Q. What is your favorite part about working on Martha's Vineyard?

A. The people and the country. I love the people and I love the country.
Q. What is your favorite part about your job?
A. I love to heal. Period. I love to help people. I want people to be healthy. I want people to be happy. I want that so deeply. And so that's what I do. When people call me and they are having problems with their baby or they have personal stuff going on, I like to help them because that's what makes me feel good. That's it.
Q. If you could do anything, what is your dream job?
A. To do exactly as I am doing, but to grow more of my own things in larger places. Bigger fields of flowers. That's all, it's simple. I can't really imagine being anywhere else.
