Working Martha's Vineyard

Micheli Lynn just started working at the Black Dog Wharf, but she already loves her job. She was just about to take her lunch break when we caught up with her to find out more about her working life on Martha's Vineyard this summer.

Q. Where are you from?

A. I grew up in Vineyard Haven, but I was actually born in New Mexico. So here they call me a "wash ashore" not an islander.

Q. Do you have any other jobs?

A. Last summer I worked at Sweeties Cupcakes, but I found this job and I love it here.

Q. What's your favorite part of working here?

A. I really just love interacting with people and making everybody feel comfortable.

Q. What do you like most about living on the Vineyard?

A. It's a beautiful place to live. You're surrounded by beaches and water. The people here are so nice.

Q. Where do you go to school?

A. I'm going to be a Senior in high school this year. I definitely want to go to college. I am hoping to go to California or Florida.

Q. What is your dream job?

A. Honestly since I've been two, I've wanted to work with dolphins and train them. That's why I'm shooting for California, it's a good place to do it there.
