Medfield's Memorial Day Services 2026

The 2026 Memorial Day Exercises in Medfield were moved inside the Dale St. School due to inclement weather. Memorial Day Co-Chair Michelle Doucette opened the ceremony thanking everyone attending.

In attendance were honored members of Beckwith Post 110 American Legion, Select Board Chair Pete Peterson and Select Board members Eileen Murphy and Gus Murby, State Rep. Josh Tarsky, State Senator Becca Rausch, Memorial Day speaker and MHS alumni David Sloan, UCC Pastor Kayla Hurst, US Army Color Guard, Cub Scouts, Scouting America members the Medfield Police Dept., the Medfield Fire Dept., and members of the Medfield Lions Club.

This year's Memorial Day program was dedicated to Edwin Kinnen of Medfield. A WWII Veteran and Beckwith Post member who passed away 11/28/25 at the age of 100 years old.

"Star Spangled Banner" - sung by MHS Choral Student Cassidy Kolovos

Invocation - Kayla Hurst, UCC Medfield

Introductions - Co-Chair, Memorial Day Committee: Michelle Doucette

Gettysburg Address - Blake Middle School 8th Grade Student Owen Laut

Memorial Address - David Sloan, MHS Class of 1967 & Lance Corporal, USMC, Vietnam

Placing of Wreaths - American Legion Beckwith Post 110 Commander Robert Tannler and American Legion Post 100 member Jean Oullette

Taps - MHS Band members Mason Allan, Robert Cabezud and Nash Ten Hagen

Benediction - Kayla Hurst, UCC Medfield
