We are incredibly disappointed to announce that Discover Medfield Day, scheduled for this Saturday, September 26, has been cancelled due to the severe weather forecast.
The latest forecast is calling for heavy, driving rain and wind gusts potentially reaching **50 mph during the morning and early afternoon**. With hundreds of vendors, participants, volunteers, and community members involved in the event, the safety of everyone attending has to be our top priority.
Discover Medfield Day is traditionally held rain or shine, and cancelling is not a decision we take lightly. In fact, this is only the **second cancellation in the event's recent history**. Unfortunately, the combination of high winds and heavy rain makes it unsafe to move forward this year. We know how much our local businesses, organizations, families, volunteers, and community look forward to this day each year, especially as we prepared to celebrate the **46th Discover Medfield Day** and Medfield's **375th anniversary**.
We share your disappointment.
A huge **THANK YOU** to all of the vendors, sponsors, volunteers, Town departments, community organizations, and everyone else who has spent months helping us prepare for this year's event.
Please help us spread the word by **sharing this post with friends, neighbors, and local community groups.**Thank you for your understanding and continued support of MEMO and our Medfield community.— Medfield Employers & Merchants Organization (MEMO)
