Medfield Students Attend Norfolk DA's Team Rival Leadership Conference...

In late November, twelve Medfield High School student leaders, Medfield Outreach’s Prevention Coordinator, and the Medfield Public School’s Director of Wellness, attended the Norfolk District Attorney’s Team Rival Leadership Conference at Gillette Stadium.

Each year, the Peer Leadership Conference serves as the kickoff event for the Norfolk District Attorney’s year-long Team Rival challenge aimed at promoting healthy choices and supporting strong schools across Norfolk County.

The Team Rival challenge invites high schools in Norfolk County to compete against each other in earning points for a number of constructive events that revolve around building a school culture of students making healthy choices. This year’s events include AAA’s “Shifting Gears: The Blunt Truth about Marijuana and Driving” program; “Distractology Training Challenge” from Arbella Insurance Foundation; and “TicToc Kindness Challenge.” The more MHS students who participate in these programs, the more points Medfield High School is awarded.

Last year, Medfield High School won its bracket against Dover and Westwood high schools and earned the maximum number of points possible! As a result, Medfield High School was awarded $1,500 for prevention programming at this year's conference.

“We should all be very proud of the students who represented Medfield at last week’s event. These self-aware leaders are focused on making a difference, not only in their own lives, but by putting in the hard work to help their community as well,” says, Medfield Outreach Prevention Coordinator, Meri Haas.
