Medford Business Owner Named Chamber's Citizen Of The Year

MEDFORD, MA — The city’s Chamber of Commerce named resident Bill Cummings as its 2025 Citizen of the Year this week.

Cummings founded his real estate enterprise, Cummings Properties, more than 40 years ago. Not long after its inception, he and his wife founded the Cummings Foundation, which is the philanthropic and charitable branch of his business. According to the Chamber, the Cummings Foundation has donated more than $600 million to nonprofits throughout its tenure. Approximately $177 million of those went to Medford organizations such as the Medford Family Network, Council on Aging, Public Library, Chevalier Theatre and Tufts University.

Cummings is slated to receive his award from the Chamber during its annual banquet on Tuesday, April 29.
