2 Children Hit By Truck While Crossing The Street In Medford

The elementary school students were not injured, according to police.

MEDFORD, MA — Two children are uninjured after being hit by a pickup truck on Thursday afternoon, according to the Medford Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene at the corner of Riverside Ave and Freedom Way at approximately 3:15 p.m. Officer Jessica Walsh told Patch that the driver of the truck mistakenly proceeded through a crosswalk after the crossing guard signaled for him to wait to allow the children to cross. The vehicle struck the eight and nine-year-olds while going about 10 miles per hour. According to Walsh, the children did not have to be transported to the hospital.
