Medford Releases Early Voting Schedule Ahead Of Primary Election

Early voting will be available for an entire week before election day.

MEDFORD, MA — The city has announced its early voting schedule ahead of the State Primary Election on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Early voting will begin on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Medford City Hall on 85 George P. Hassett Drive, with residents able to cast their ballots from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Voting will continue on Sunday, Aug. 23, during the same hours.

Residents can also vote from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24 and Tuesday, Aug. 25, before hours are extended on Wednesday, Aug. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Early voting will return to 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27. The early voting period will conclude on Friday, Aug. 28, with residents able to cast their ballots from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 22 is also the deadline for voter registration. Residents must register by 5 p.m. and can check their voter registration status through the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth's website.

Registered voters can also request a mail-in ballot for the election. The deadline to request a Vote by Mail ballot is Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 5 p.m. Applications are available online, in the Election Office in Room 102 of City Hall, or by calling the Election Office at 781-393-2491 and requesting that an application be mailed to your residence.

The city recommends applying as early as possible to allow enough time for ballots to be delivered and returned. Completed ballots can be mailed to City Hall, brought to City Hall during business hours, or placed in the mail drop box outside the building. All completed mail-in ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Residents who choose to vote on Election Day can visit their regular polling place on Sept. 1 between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Voters can find their polling location through the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth's online tool.
