MEDFORD, MA — A community bank has opened its newest branch in West Medford, adding to its locations throughout the Greater Boston area.
Everett Co-operative Bank celebrated the grand opening of its new location at 501 High St., near the West Medford train station, Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn announced. The opening marks the bank's fourth branch, joining locations in Everett, Lynnfield, and Woburn.
The new branch features a custom mural by Blind Fox Art inspired by Medford's connection to Paul Revere's historic Revolutionary War ride. Lungo-Koehn congratulated the bank's team on the opening and highlighted the artwork and location near the train station. The bank first announced plans for the full-service branch in January, saying the expansion would help it serve local families, businesses, municipalities and nonprofit organizations.
Malinda Reagan and Tina Caruso, both formerly with Brookline Bank, were hired to oversee the new location, according to an announcement from the bank. Reagan was born and raised in Medford and began working in banking in the city in 2004. She has served on the West Medford Community Center Board since 2021, including as its president. Caruso, the bank's vice president of business development and client services, is a past president and current Executive Board member of the Medford Chamber of Commerce.
Founded in 1890, Everett Co-operative Bank has operated continuously in Everett since its establishment. The bank opened its Woburn branch in September 2023, bringing its network to three locations before the Medford opening. It became a wholly owned subsidiary of ECB Bancorp in July 2022 following its conversion from mutual to stock ownership and established a charitable foundation that year to support organizations in the communities it serves.
