Melrose School Waiting To Open New Playground To Students Months After Tragedy (patch.com) — Winthrop Elementary's new playground equipment is going in, but Melrose officials are keeping the area closed until an outside arborist's tree-safety report is reviewed following May's fatal tree fall. The city's own arborist has already cleared school trees, and fencing will be replaced once installation finishes, meaning students must wait longer for full playground access.

Favorite Chicken Chain Charts Expansion In MA: Food Week (patch.com) — Downtown Melrose just welcomed Slurp Noodle, which soft-opened at 478 Main Street and is serving ramen, pho, and rice bowls in a long-vacant space.
