• Melrose Business Owner Honored With Immigrant Entrepreneur Award (patch.com) — A Melrose Main Street business owner, Andrea Iriarte Dent of Molly's Bookstore, is being honored with a statewide immigrant entrepreneur award for her contributions to the local community and economy. Her downtown shop has quickly become a hub for book clubs, children's storytimes, author talks, and fundraisers that bring Melrose residents together. The award will be presented in November in Boston.
• Governor announces $103M for economic development and housing projects in Greater Boston (advocatenews.net) — State grants totaling more than $103 million will fund housing and economic development projects across Greater Boston, with over $17 million headed to Malden, Melrose, and Wakefield. Melrose's state representative says the money will help unlock roughly 750 new homes, boost downtown revitalization, and support small business growth. Local residents can expect long-term benefits from improved infrastructure and expanded housing options.
