MELROSE, MA — The first Board of Aldermen meeting since, well, the year's first Board of Aldermen meeting was neat, tidy, and had considerably fewer people in attendance than its predecessor.

President of the Board/Mayor-in-Waiting Gail Infurna led the short meeting Tuesday night, which kicked off with a resolution to honor outgoing Mayor Robert Dolan. Dolan, who was one of only three of the everyday folks in attendance (including this reporter,) was honored as Alderman Peter Mortimer read the following resolution signed by the board.

Dolan responded by praising the people of Melrose - both his constituents and his colleagues in office - and saying he'll always be available as the city enters a new phase of leadership.

The rest of the agenda, which you can see here, was burned through quickly. The remaining items were put off to various committees. Who will be serving on which committee was rattled off at the beginning of the meeting.
