MILFORD, MA — A Uxbridge woman is facing multiple charges after officials said she assaulted police and ambulance personnel in a traffic stop early Thursday.
Tamra Davis, 35, was arrested shortly after midnight Thursday after a Milford patrol officer saw a white Dodge Journey traveling erratically at a high rate of speed on Main Street and crossing double-yellow lines multiple times, according to police. The SUV was stopped near the Hopedale-Milford town line.
Police said Davis became argumentative and aggressive when asked for her license and registration. The officer also detected a strong odor of alcohol, according to police.
During the arrest and booking process, Davis yelled threats and homophobic insults at officers, police said. At about 12:40 a.m., while receiving requested medical care, Davis tried to bite a Coastal Ambulance EMT and later kicked a Coastal Ambulance paramedic inside an ambulance, according to police.
Police said Davis continued to be assaultive while under arrest and awaiting care in the emergency room at UMass Milford Regional Hospital, where she yelled racial slurs at a hospital staff member.
Davis was held on $1,500 bail and taken to Milford District Court for arraignment Thursday morning on charges including assault and battery on ambulance personnel, assault and battery on a police officer, OUI-liquor or .08%, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, speeding, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, assault, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and threatening to commit a crime.
