4-Way Stop Coming To Milford Intersection

MILFORD, MA — A busy intersection in Milford will have a new traffic pattern starting next week.

The intersection of Congress Street, Walnut Street and West Walnut Street will become a four-way stop on Monday to improve vehicle and pedestrian safety, the Milford Police Department announced.

Each approach to the intersection will have a solar-powered, blinking stop sign. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation provided the equipment through its All-Way Stop Control Program.

The program helps municipalities convert hazardous or high-crash intersections with two-way stops into four-way stops.

Milford police urged commuters to travel patiently and watch for the newly installed traffic pattern.
