Milford High School Building Plans To Be Discussed At Public Forum

MILFORD, MA — Residents will get a closer look at the ideas taking shape for Milford High School during an upcoming community forum.

The Milford High School Building Committee will hold the hour-long forum Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. in the Milford High School auditorium, 31 West Fountain St.

Superintendent Craig Consigli, Principal Joshua Otlin, committee Chairman Jonathan Bruce and other project officials will discuss the need for the project, preliminary concepts, upcoming town votes and the projected opening date for a new building.

Members of the design and construction team will also introduce themselves and explain their roles. The town selected Next Level OPM as its owner's project manager and HMFH Architects as the project designer, according to Milford's 2025 annual report.

The project remains in the feasibility-study phase of the Massachusetts School Building Authority process. During that phase, a district and its consultants evaluate options before recommending the most cost-effective and educationally appropriate solution, according to the MSBA.

Possible configurations studied with the state include schools serving grades 9-12, 8-12 or 7-12, each with prekindergarten space. The existing 342,350-square-foot high school dates to 1971, according to MSBA project records.

Town officials have previously projected completion in 2030. The forum will include the latest schedule, including when residents may be asked to vote and when a new building could open.

The meeting will conclude with a question-and-answer session. Project documents and past meeting materials are available on the district's Milford High School building project page.
