Anthony A. Grillo

Anthony A. Grillo, 88, of Milford, died Thurs., April 28, at Countryside Healthcare in Milford after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Catherine F. (Dewing) Grillo, who died in 1999. 

He was born in Milford, son of the late Pasquale and Maria (Tusia) Grillo, and was a lifelong Milford resident. He graduated from Milford High School. 

Mr. Grillo was a photo engraver at Dennison Manufacturing Company in Framingham and had served as steward for the photo engraver’s union. 
He was a longtime communicant of  a longtime member of the Sicilian Club of Milford and the Sons of Italy; and a longtime member of the Elks Lodge. He was also a longtime volunteer to the Town of Milford, having served as a town meeting member for many years and as a member of the building committee of the former Milford Geriatric Authority, now known as Countryside Healthcare. Mr. Grillo was also a longtime volunteer at the Milford Senior Center; a longtime member of the Milford Council on Aging, serving as chairman; and served on the building committee of the new Milford Senior Center. 

He leaves his companion, Shirley Stone; his daughter-in-law, Mary Jane A. Grillo; and two nieces, Sharon Courtois and Marie Katinauskas. He was the father of the late Robert A. Grillo, who died in 2005. 

His funeral will be held Mon., May 2, at 9 a.m. from the , 44 Congress St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Lower Chapel of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main St. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sun., May 1, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
