Prizes are awarded to the most creative pumpkin carvers.

MILFORD, MA—Create and illuminate. This event, dare we say, might be even more fun that trick-or-treating.

The Milford Parks Department and Village Mortgage is holding the 2016 Pumpkin Stroll this weekend, an annual event that attracts hundreds of families from Milford.

This year’s event is happening at Plains Park at the Lions Club Pavilion on Cedar Street (Route 85) on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 6-7:30 p.m.

Those wishing to carve pumpkins will need to drop off their pumpkins at the park between 4:30-5:30 p.m. Three $25 gift cards will be awarded for the scariest, funniest and most creative pumpkins, and prizes will be awarded at 7 p.m. (pumpkin carvers must be present to win).

Youths who attend are encouraged to dress up in their best Halloween costumes for trick-or-treating at the courts from 6-7 p.m. Local businesses from around Milford will also be on hand at tables to hand out treats.
