Baby Dies At Mendon Day Care, Police Investigate: DA

A baby in Mendon died on Tuesday evening, and police are investigating.

WORCESTER COUNTY, MA—A mom found her baby unresponsive when she picked him up from daycare on Tuesday evening, and he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

The death of a 10-week-old boy in Mendon is being investigated by state police detectives, said Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr. on Thursday.

The boy was discovered unresponsive at the Bethany Church Day Care Center on Cape Road around 5 p.m. on Tuesday by his mother who had arrived to pick him up. The baby was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

There are no signs of foul play at this time. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has accepted the case and will determine cause of death. The death is still under investigation by the State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s office and Mendon Police.
