A Rant and a Photo
I often hear people in the hallways of Milford High, saying something along the lines of "this place sucks." I don't respond; rather, I'm putting my argument here.

I'm in high school, in case you don't know that. So I'll start with this: It really bugs me—or "fries my nose," as Boston mayor Tom Menino would say—when students say negative things about Milford's educational system. I don't get into conversations during school about it, but I believe Milford has some very specific things that make it one of the best high schools in the area.
I'll take the list right from the Wikipedia page, because I created that page (don't believe me? Here's a link to the edit history of the page. Scroll down to the very bottom). Along with the usual sports facility complex, which is currently getting completely renovated, we have a competition-size swimming pool, a rarity for towns around us. Not only do we have a pool, but in the facility is a one-meter springboard diving board and a huge spectator seating area. Also two rarities.
We also have a full theater with seating for (and I'm doing this from memory) roughly 750, full lighting and sound capabilities and full stage backdrop capabilities. In that theater lives the , which, according to local residents, from Milford and beyond, puts on some of the best shows that they have ever seen.

So yeah, we have a swimming pool and a theater. "What's your point?" you ask.
My point is this: Milford High School has a lot to offer. I know that high school students read Patch, and if they are in other circumstances, I urge them to get involved. All too often I hear people in the hallways, etc., saying something along the lines of "this place sucks." Given my personality, I don't respond to them, but rather put my argument in a blog.

Going back: someone close to me often says that the ideal day for a high school student is leaving the house at 7 in the morning, and not getting home until 7 at night. I can honestly say that there are many days like this for me.
On another note, the is coming up, this Friday, at the high school track. The Joe B. Band, a student band led by Joe B., a history teacher, is performing, weather permitting, starting at around 7:30 p.m. They are a rock-oriented band, playing songs like—
Well, I guess you'll just have to stop by to find out. I'm a music guy, and hearing them rehearse the other day surprised me.
In keeping with new tradition, I have a picture for this blog. It is a picture of the current Joe B. Band lineup.
I guess it's just another great facet of Milford High School.
