Hopedale's Newest Non-Profit To Hold First Fundraiser

SenseAbility Gym is a parent-led sensory gym giving children with special needs a safe place to play & accommodate their sensory needs. Join us for our first fundraiser!

SenseAbility Gym Incorporated, Hopedale’s newest non-profit, will host a wine tasting fundraiser on September 22, 2012 from 7pm-9pm at the Hopedale Unitarian Parish, 65 Hopedale Street, Hopedale. Cost is $25 per person donation at the door.

SenseAbility Gym Incorporated is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation serving special needs children in the greater Hopedale, Massachusetts area. Our mission is to provide a parent-led sensory gym, giving children with special needs a safe, fun, indoor area where they can play and accommodate their sensory needs.  This will be the first of its kind in the metrowest area of Massachusetts.

We started this non-profit because as moms of children with autism, we have found that there are a couple cccupational therapy centers in the area that occasionally offer public open gym time, but there is nothing in the area that provides the open gym services that we outlined above.  We knew our kids needed more, and that is how SenseAbility Gym, Incorporated was born.

One in six children deal with sensory processing difficulties.  And with the autism rate recently rising to 1 in 88 children, we believe that in establishing SenseAbility Gym we have the potential of servicing hundreds of families in Hopedale, Milford and its surrounding communities

The anticipated opening date for the sensory gym is January 2013.  Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards operating costs and equipment purchases for the gym.

The event is sponsored in part by Hopedale Package Store, The Little White Market, Green Mountain Chocolates, Boston Common Coffee and Milford National Bank.

We hope you can join us!
