LeBrun, Fairbanks and Smith homer for Milford
Milford Varsity Softball defeats Hopkinton
Milford took home the trophy Friday in the First Annual Peter Looney Legacy
Game. Fueled by 13 hits and a great pitching performance Milford rolled over
previously unbeaten Hopkinton 10-0.
Taylor LeBrun (double, home run, single) got Milford on the Board in the
4th inning by blasting a home run over the centerfield fence to give Milford a
1-0 lead. That would be all Shannon Smith
(4-4, home run) would need as she struck out 18 Hiller batters en route to
Milford’s 7th win of the season. The Milford bats came alive after that adding 9
runs over the next 3 innings. Caroline Fairbanks continued her torrid pace at
the plate hitting her second home run of the season coupled with a single. Other
Milford hitters included: Sam Bonvino (triple, rbi), Lauren Hanna (2-4), Allie
Piergustavo (1-2) and Giovanna Arcudi (1-2, rbi).
