Milford High School After Prom Party - We Need Our Community's Support!

We, as a community, have an obligation to provide a safe and wholesome atmosphere for our children and young adults. Please help with After Prom!

Dear Community Members,

We, as a community, have an obligation to provide a safe and wholesome atmosphere for our children and young adults. Communities across the nation have successfully presented exciting and safe parties for high school students to attend following their proms. Milford High School has  provided a sensible and enjoyable alcohol and drug-free alternative celebration following our prom for many years. This is an ambitious project, but the statistics relating to teen alcohol-related deaths and deaths around the country underscore the importance of this endeavor. Our After Prom Party will begin at 11 p.m. May 24 and concludes at 5 a.m May 25, with the drawing of our grand prizes. This event is free of charge for students and their dates.

This party involves music, dancing, games, food, and lots of prizes. Last year, we gave away grand prizes. Microwaves, dorm size refrigerators, iPhones, iPods, MP3 players, iPads, DVD players, and flat screen television sets, as well as gift cards from vendors, are just a few of the items that we have given away during the party.

On Friday, May 24, we are hosting our annual After Prom Party at Pinz. We are hoping to duplicate the success of last year’s event. Last year more than 90 percent of eligible students attended the After Prom Party. The community donated $30,000 in cash donations and prizes. We truly believe that most young adults will make good choices when provided with a viable option. This special evening cannot be successful without the continued generous support of parents, teachers, alumni, and the community. It costs approximetly $75 per child to attend this event! Think about sponsoring one child!

We are asking for your support. You may choose to donate a monetary amount or you may also choose to donate prizes. You can provide a prize related to your business (food, oil changes, haircuts, gift certificates). Please know that your donation is greatly appreciated and acknowledged. Donations can be dropped off at The Milford Sports Center or Oliva’s Market. Co- Chairpersons Cheryl Shea & Gina Tarolli.

If needed, we can make arrangements to pick up donations at your place of business.

If you have any questions or want to get involved right away, please contact Cheryl Shea or Gina Tarolli @ milfordapp@gmail.com. Whether you make a one-time donation or would like to join our annual benefactors, we need your help. No donation is too small.

This event is for the safety of our children, but more importantly our families, our school and our community.
