Milford Softball Dominates Braintree

The Scarlet Hawks hammered out 14 hits Friday night under the lights in
Braintree on their way to an 8-0 win. Taylor LeBrun hit a 2 run home run and
Rachel Levine was 4-4 on the night which helped give pitcher Shannon Smith more
than she needed as she threw another no-hitter and struck out 15 Wamp hitters.
Milford’s defense was on their toes too, especially Caroline Fairbanks who made
3 beautiful defensive plays at third base. Fairbanks was able to catch
two short, popped up bunts for outs and ran a very long way to track and catch a
foul ball along the Braintree batting cages. Unfortunately, the out did not
count as it was ruled out of play. 8 Milford batters had hits: Sam Bonvino
(2-3), Lauren Hannah (2-3), Shannon Smith (2-4, 3 rbi), Caroline Fairbanks
(single), Rachel Levine (4-4, 2 doubles, rbi), Taylor LeBrun (HR, 2 rbi), Allie
Piergustavo (single), Lizzie Stallone (single).
