Milford Too Much for Sharon

With the tragic events that took place on Monday, the game between Milford Varsity Softball and Sharon was a good distraction if only for a couple of
hours.

Not that it was forgotten as Coach Brian Macchi made sure. Coach Macchi
provided the team with black arm bands to wear in honor and memory of all those affected at the Boston Marathon.

Milford scored early on a 2 run home run by Caroline Fairbanks (4-4, 3 rbi)
and that was all Milford would need as they went on to shut out Sharon 13-0.
Shannon Smith (triple, 2 rbi) was on point again throwing her 4th no-hitter of
the season and chalking up 10 strike outs. Many Milford hitters contributed to
the win: Taylor LeBrun (single, triple, 2 rbi), Kylie Richards (1-1, rbi), Jenny
Levine (1-1, rbi), Lauren Hanna (1-3), Sam Bonvino (1-2), Rachel Levine (1-2),
Allie Piergustavo (2 rbi) and Sarah Jacques (rbi).
