'River Street Wednesdays' Come to Milford

'River Street Wednesdays' will take place every Wednesday at 12:30 PM on the parkette in front of Milford City Hall through August 24.

Milford, CT - The City of Milford and Milford Arts Council are thrilled to continue the second year of River Street Wednesdays. The 2016 program will take place every Wednesday at 12:30 PM on the parkette in front of City Hall from through August 24, 2016.

“River Street Wednesdays is a way for the community to connect and enjoy each other, to get people moving and create a rousing mid-day downtown. We encourage everyone to come down with a picnic lunch and enjoy Milford and everything it has to offer,” said Mayor Blake.

The Wednesday events will be complimented by Open Mic Nights July 8th through August 12th at the Milford Arts Council. The winner will perform at the Annual Milford Oyster Festival in August. The season of arts and community will end with a grand finale at the Fall MAC Fest on the Green scheduled for September 17th. For more information visit here.

“The events are eclectic and entertaining meant to highlight many of the activities and beauty of Milford, as well as create a community place for an underutilized park in the heart of our City,” said Paige Miglio, Executive Director for the Milford Arts Council and Julie Nash, Economic and Community Development Director for the City of Milford, the event organizers.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair as well as a picnic lunch. The downtown area has a number of restaurants where a bag lunch can be purchased, please visit the Downtown Milford Business Association here for a list of restaurants and shops to visit before and after the event.
