The Milford Community Program is offering this program for students in grades 5 and 6, who "will learn the basic chess strategy, offensive and defensive moves, and basic rules of the game. Learn a little history of the game, why the pieces are called what they are, and develop a life-long skill that can increase your critical thinking skills. All in a fun, competitive atmosphere that will promote sportsmanship and appreciation for one of the world's oldest, sophisticated games."
