Earth Day Cleanup

The Friends of the Milford Upper Charles Trail will hold their annual Spring /Earth Day Clean-up on Saturday April 21.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the Fino Field parking lot at 9:00 to pick up gloves and bags. This will enable us to dispatch teams to specific areas where they are most needed.

As the length of the trail has virtually doubled this year it is important to target clean-up tasks so that we do not double up on some areas and leave others unattended.  Many areas will receive a ”spring cleaning”  thanks to our Adopt a Trail Partners. We currently have six organizations that maintain specific locations. They are Alternatives Unlimited, Italian American Vets, Midtown Family Fitness, Hockomock YMCA, the Masons, and Wegmans Supermarket.

There will also be cub scouts working with the Charles River Watershed Association doing clean-up on the section between Dilla Street and Fino Field, including Clark’s Island. Volunteers are asked to bring rakes and brooms, work gloves for heavier chores and to dress for the weather.

Rain date for this event is April 28.
