National Walk at Lunch Day

On April 25, join Healthy Futures Milford and tens of thousands of walkers nationwide in celebrating National Walk at Lunch Day. National Walk @ Lunch is the first step
towards making a big difference in the health of all Americans.

National Walk at Lunch Day, a national initiative by Blue Cross and Blue Shield, is designed to complement – not compete with – busy lifestyles. Research shows that walking and physical activity can decrease the risk of heart disease and Type II Diabetes, control weight, improve muscle tone, and reduce stress among other benefits.

National Walk at Lunch Day is one of many activities promoted by Healthy Futures Milford in April. View our complete list of Healthy Kids Month events at http://www.milfordpublicschools.com/ and download a copy of the NEW Milford Town Walking Maps, a partnership between WalkBoston, MetroWest Health Foundation and Healthy Futures Milford at www.milford.ma.us or pick up a copy at Milford Public Library, Milford Town Hall, Milford Police Department, Milford Regional Medical Center, Olivia’s Market, Athletic Based Training (ABT) or kiosk at Louisa Lake on the Upper Charles Trail.  Experience all nine suggested walking routes or use the map to create your own – see how easy it is to take steps to improve your health.
