Ex-Teacher Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Charge

A former teacher at Blackstone Valley Tech will spend the next five years on probation on a child pornography charge.

Charles Mattie, 28, formerly of Hopedale, pleaded guilty in Milford District Court to one charge of exhibiting a child in a nude or lascivious pose according to the Milford Daily News. As part of the sentence, Mattie must register as a sex offender, surrender his teaching license, and not take a job working with children.

In September 2013, the principal of Blackstone Valley Tech reported the matter after several students informed him of an inappropriate relationship between Mattie and a 16-year-old student. After an investigation, photos of the victim performing a sexual act were found on an iPod Touch used by the victim. The victim told police that Mattie took the photos and he was in them.
