Explosion In Milford Leaves Worker Seriously Injured

MILFORD, MA — A man in his 40s was seriously injured Monday afternoon after an explosion at a Milford business, police have confirmed.

Milford firefighters were called to Birchler's Automotive at around 11:45 a.m. Monday. A 911 caller said that the victim, a North Attleborough man, was welding a tank when there was a sudden explosion.

The man was flown by helicopter to a hospital for treatment of burns. Birchler's Automotive, at 50 Birch St., is right next door to the Milford Fire Department headquarters building.
