MILFORD, MA — Funeral services for a Milford firefighter who died unexpectedly over the weekend will be held on Thursday and Friday, according to an obituary. In addition, two fundraisers have been set up to benefit Patrick Evans' family.

Evans, 37, was found dead on Sunday, according to Milford Fire Chief William Touhey. He was a 13-year veteran of the department and was also an EMT. Evans served on regional technical rescue and hazmat teams, and formerly worked as a Hopedale 911 dispatcher.

The Worcester County District Attorney has said that Evans died an unattended death, which typically means there was no criminal cause. However, state police detectives were investigating the death, according to the DA's office.
