MILFORD, MA — Milford residents will get a glimpse at possible renovations coming to the town pool at Fino Field at a parks department forum this month.

The popular pool is in dire need of renovations after decades of heavy use. The town announced plans for a $3.4 million update in 2019, which would pay for infrastructure upgrades, plus a facelift for the facility including a bathhouse and playground.

The upgrade would also change the footprint of the pool, adding a rectangular area for lap swimming, a separate pool for relaxation and a splash pad area.

The pool was closed over the summer of 2020 due to the pandemic, but reopened for the 2021 season at the end of June.

The parks department forum on the Fino Field pool renovations begins at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the pool located at 35 Granite St. There will be a presentation from the town's architects, Bargmann Hendrie and Archetype, Inc., and a question-and-answer session.
