Hopedale Graduate Headed To Thailand To Teach English

This graduate will follow in his parents footsteps.

HOPEDALE, MA—Hopedale resident Ian Yoshioka graduated from McDaniel College on Saturday, May 20, with a bachelor's degree in English and will be teaching English in Thailand through the nonprofit XploreAsia this fall.

Yoshioka first studied abroad in Peru with “The Forest Online,” an interdisciplinary yearlong course at McDaniel that included a study tour during Jan Term 2016. He will continue to work as a lifeguard and swim instructor this summer before leaving for Thailand at the end of August.

Both of Yoshioka's parents are teachers and he is following in their footsteps by teaching English in Thailand through the nonprofit XploreAsia.
