Last Call In Milford For Arts, Culture Grant Funding
Local artists, nonprofits and others offering cultural programming only have until Monday to apply for grants.

MILFORD, MA — Calling all Milford artists, instructors, sculptors and others working in the humanities: time is running out to apply for cultural council grant funds. The Milford Cultural Council is accepting proposals for the upcoming year — but only until Oct. 17.
Here's more from a cultural council news release:
The Milford Cultural Council (MCC) is now accepting applications for grants funding programming in the arts, humanities, and sciences. The last day to submit a grant application is Monday, October 17. All applicants should submit their proposal online.

In consideration of feedback from the community, the MCC will prioritize proposals in the visual arts (including public art and instruction), music, performing arts, and the sciences. Recommendations for successful grant applications are available on the Milford Cultural Council page on the town website. The tips are provided in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
For the second year, the MCC is implementing a direct-grant process for all approved grant recipients. Instead of requiring each grant applicant to process paperwork for reimbursement after their program or event has been completed, the council will make the awarded grant money available in full and up front to all approved grant recipients. Grant recipients will still be required to submit a final report to the council once their project has been completed.

"Direct granting imposes less financial hardship on potential grant recipients by providing the funds up front. Our goal in offering direct grants is to attract a broader range of applicants and programming opportunities for the community.” said MCC Chairperson Geri Eddins.
Potential applicants who have questions regarding the grant process are encouraged to reach out to the council via email (CulturalCouncil@TownofMilford.com) or via Facebook Messenger (@MilfordCulturalCouncil.)
The MCC seeks to promote excellence, inclusion, education, and diversity in the arts, humanities, and sciences to foster a rich cultural experience for all Milford residents. Current members include: Geri Eddins, Chairperson; Sandra Buckley, Vice Chairperson; Martin Montoya, Treasurer; Sara Vono-Caires, Secretary; Joclyn Crivello; C.C. Chapman; Jenny Lyons; Aboighasem Moazeni; Michele Pici; Noressa Santomenna; Khizra Syeda; Denise Tracy; and Michael Visconti. Any resident who is interested in joining the council is invited to complete a talent bank application (available on the town website) and return it to the Town Administrator’s office.
The MCC welcomes ideas, recommendations, and feedback regarding programs and events funded or sponsored by the council. Interested Milford residents are encouraged to attend meetings, which are held every third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. typically in Room 14 of Town Hall. Comments and requests for information can be emailed to the council at CulturalCouncil@TownofMilford.com.
