Local Music & Comedy Lives in Mendon and Bellingham

Recently I have become aware of two local restaurants that have live music and improv comedy as part of their regular fare.  The Willowbrook Restaurant on Hastings Street in Mendon features a bluegrass music set with the group Mendon County and a bluegrass jam on the first Thursday and third Saturday of the month from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  The first Friday of every month features guitarist Matt Genese and improv comedy from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM with Penguin Apocalypse.  The Willowbrook has been featuring live music since opening in the former location of Lowell's Restaurant in 2009.

New to the local music scene is The Uncommon Place, a bar & grill opened in 2013 in the former location of Patriots at 15 North Main Street, Bellingham.  Recent performers have included Courage and the Bear, which stopped by Living for the Weekend with Ray Auger on WMRC-1490 AM and Milford TV before heading out to their Friday night gig.

There are other places around Milford that support live music - The Tradesman, Pinz, and Pepperoncini's come to mind.  If you can get out to any of these places, do it on local music nights.  You'll like the scene and the hard working local musicians will appreciate seeing you there!
