Mango Tree Warned of Closure Fixes Violations: Milford's Health Inspections

Thawing food, utensil storage, open doors, bathrooms among violations. Milford's health inspector visited 11 food establishments in April.

MILFORD, MA—The following inspections were supplied by the Milford Board of Health:

  • Brookside School 110 Congress St. 4-1-16 One violation here. Need to replace one ceiling tile.
  • Milford High School 31 West Fountain St 4-1-16 In the primary walk in freezer food products in cardboard boxes cannot be stored on the floor, and some sort of debris at the bottom of the large mixing bowl for the floor mounted mixer in the bakery area.
  • Simply Buffets 100 Central St. 4-1-16 Do not store bag of onions on the floor and replace ceiling tiles.
  • D’Angelo’s 195 E. Main 4-4-16 Only violation here. Clean the floor to the wall under the grill area.
  • Memorial School 12-14 Walnut St 4-4-16 There are no violations here.
  • Cornerstones 11 Birch St 4-4-16 One violation here. Need to equip the hand sink by the staff service area with soap and paper towel.
  • Milford Catholic School 11 E. Main 4-5-16 No violations here.
  • Stacey Middle School 66 School St. 4-4-16 One violation here. Clean the stainless steel utility drawer under the stainless steel work table so that utensils and equipment is stored away from any other items.
  • Blair House 2 1 Railroad St. 4-5- 16 No violations here almost like a new kitchen.
  • Countryside Healthcare 1 Countryside Dr. Violations here include the following. Food products cannot be stored on the floor in the dry goods storage room, general care and organization must also be taken with food in this same room, need a thermometer in the milk cooler, walk in freezer and walk in cooler are both in need of attention with proper food storage, and general (better) upkeep of the kitchen is a priority. A re-inspection is scheduled. All violations corrected 4-12- 16
  • Dunkin Donuts 31 Main St. 4-6-16 Violations here include the following. Foods in cardboard boxes cannot be stored on the floor in the walk in freezer, need visible thermometers in both walk in units, and no paper towel for the employee hand sink next to the drive up window.
  • Middle School East 45 Main St. 4-6-16 Violations include the following. Need thermometers in the Coke cooler and the new 2 door freezer, ladies locker room/rest room is a mess and is an ongoing violation, cracked window
  • Woodland School 10 North Vine Ave 4-6- 16 No violations here.
  • Casa Brazil 112 Main St. 4-4-16 Violations here include the following. Wide open box of pasta in the dry goods storage room in the basement, clean or change (recommend changing the white paper used to line wooden shelves in the basement used to store foods, do not clutter the utility sink with cloths, clean four burner stove top esp. inside the grates, and bag of sugar cannot be stored on the floor.
  • Depot St. Tavern 45 Depot St. 4-1-16 Do not leave doors any doors open, this will allow for insects pest or vermin to enter the facility, properly repair the screen door duct tape is not acceptable, clean and disinfect the hand sink in the dish room, clean and maintain the dish room, two foods not covered in the prep cooler and you cannot store a food container on top of another food without covering the bottom container first and the top container also.
  • Dunkin Donuts 146 S. Main St. 4-8-16 Clean the interior of the Baxter oven esp. the base, and plastic containers used to store plastic utensils need to be cleaned out due to food debris at the bottom.
  • KFC 15 Medway Rd. 4-7-16 No paper towel for hand sink at the back chicken prep area, and need a set of actual working handles for second faucet for the 3 bay hand sink.
  • Dunkin Donuts 13 Medway Rd. 4-7-16 Violations here include the following. Close boxes of food products in the walk in freezer, no paper towel for the employee hand sink in the back prep room, clean and disinfect the men’s room toilet.
  • Lin’s Garden 206 E. Main St. 4-6-16 Violations here include the following. Close tightly the bag of corn starch in the dry goods storage room, surface clean the area around the 3 bay sink, in the walk in cooler the racks are to be really cleaned of food debris and the food covered, bags of food products have fallen onto the floor in the walk in freezer, clean and sanitize the whole complete manual can opener, and clean all sinks (hand sinks food prep sinks and 3 bay sink). Re-inspected 4-13- 16 all violations corrected.
  • Garden Pizza 92 Prospect St. 4-6-16 Violations here include the following. Do not store bag of onions on the floor, mixing bowl and dough hook are to be clean and sanitize3d before covering them, one plastic container of cheese not covered in the walk in cooler, and clean the top and inside the grates of the burner stove top.
  • Asia Café 94 Main St. 4-5-16 Violations here include the following. Cover the white plastic barrels of food products in the small storage room, two foods not covered in the 2 door cooler, and clean the main line better (wok stations char broiler, and 2 burner stove top.
  • J.R’s Diner 296 Main St. 4-12-16 One violation here. At customer service bar area all plastic utensils are to be stored so that the user grabs the handle.
  • Dunkin Donuts 350 E. Main St. 4-11-16 Violations here include the following. Replace tiles that are missing above the dry goods storage rack (about 4 tiles), one food rack not covered in the back prep room.
  • Holiday Inn Express 4-12-16 30 Fortune Blvd. Clean interior of the Otis Spunkmeyer oven and store utensils in both container on the counter top so that the user (employee) grabs the handle.
  • Quality Inn Express 3 Fortune Blvd. 4-12-16 Box of donuts partially covered in the freezer.
  • Isabel’s Coffee Shop 4-12- 16 355.5 E. Main St. Violations here include the following. Clean the interior of the left side oven, pull out and clean the protective tray under the flat top grill, clean the interior of the small table top oven, time to change the cutting board for the prep cooler, and clean the food slicer due to food debris around the blade and guard.
  • Fairfield Inn & Suites 1 Fortune Blvd. 4-14-16 No Violations here.
  • Garden Restaurant 146 West St. 4-14-16 One violation here. Employee clothing way in the back cannot be stored on a rack that causes them to be in contact in any way with equipment or utensils.
  • Mango Tree 206 E. Main St. 4-14-16 Violations here include the following. Front door must be kept closed, clean the floor in the walk in cooler, 2 foods not covered in the walk in freezer, a box of chicken delivered thawed at 10:00 am temp was 50 degrees at 2:50 pm this food was disposed of and witnessed, clean the floor area from the walk in units to the mop sink including the mop sink, three bay sink clean and sanitized the storage area across from it the prep sink and the food storage area across from it all clean organized shelves clean the complete area really cleaned and taken proper care of, clean entire prep cooler area inside and out top to bottom and clean and sanitized the cutting surface, stove top is disgusting black heavy food build up, floor to wall at the main line is to be cleaned, and no paper towel for employee hand sink. A re-inspection is scheduled. Re-inspected on 4-22- 16 and found violations corrected. Big difference in this facility. Informed the owner at the time of inspection and re-inspection if same conditions are found he will face immediate repercussions including closure.
  • McDonalds 139 S. Main St 4-22-16 Clean and disinfect the men’s restroom.
  • Wendy’s 128 Cedar St 4-22-16 Cutting board cannot be stored against the splash wall and faucet.
  • Milford Food Pantry 21 Exchange St. 4-26-16 No violations here.
  • Trinity Episcopal Church 17 Congress St. 4-28-16 No violations here.
  • Tradesmen 284 West St. 4-27-16 Violations here include the following. Clean the small household fan mounted above the food prep table, need visible thermometers for the household refrigerator, clean interior of both table top microwave ovens, do not store cutting boards between the kitchen faucet and the splash wall, clean the flat top grill, need a thermometer for the small bar cooler.
  • Yum Yum Froyo 196 E. Main St. 4-27-16 No violations here.
  • Lucky 9 119 E. Main St. 4-27-16 No violations here.
  • Sabor De Minus 122 E. Main St. 4-27-16 Do not store food on the floor in cardboard boxes in the walk in cooler, and label all food container with the food product they contain under the stainless steel table under the window.
  • Wanokura 194 West St. 4-26- 16 Violations here include the following. Need a visible thermometer for the chest freezer near the ice machine, no paper towel for the employee hand sink, clean the floor esp. behind the main line.
  • Rosa’s Villa 189 Main St. 4-26-16 Mixer and mixing bowl need to be cleaned.
  • A Step in Time 195 West St. 4-26-16 Violations here included one critical violation thawing frozen food (ham) at room temperature, food was still frozen at the time and placed in the cooler this corrected the critical violation, utensils in the brown container are to be stored with handles facing the user.
  • Turtle Tavern 72 Main St. 4-25-16 Violations here include the following. Uncovered chicken in the walk in cooler, clean the interior and exterior of the convection oven, clean the char broiler, clean the exterior of the entire stove unit, utensils are to be stored clean and sanitized (ladle and spatula had food debris on them), and increase ph of the dish machine. This was done the next day by an Echo lab tech. Further re-inspection scheduled. Remaining violations corrected 5-2- 16
  • Blair House 20 Claflin 4-25- 16 One box of food stored on the floor in the walk in freezer.
  • La Quinta 24 Beaver St. 4-25-16 No violations here.
