That may seem like odd advice on a Medicare advice column. But you really need to stay away from deceitful web sites with tricky names that falsely promise Medicare advice but that are really just trying to sell you something.
One of these misleadingly named sites is a site called Medicare.com, but it's just the best example of what I mean because its name is just like the site you DO want to go to... to get free advice and help. The site you DO want to use is medicare.gov. It is the official site of the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services and it contains no ads, no distractions, no sneakiness at all
So also beware of sites that have words like "advocacy" or "resource" or "Save Medicare" or anything like that in their names. Do yourself a big favor and stick with medicare.gov. Also use your "Medicare and You, 2014" booklet as a great resource.
And start looking or reading today. You only have about 50 more days to make a decision... but sooner is better than later.
