Milford AD to Propose Expansion of Athletics to Middle School Level
The Athletic Director will provide one of several reports at Thursday's Milford School Committee Meeting.
Milford Public Schools Athletic Director Richard Piergustavo will propose a plan to expand the athletic program into the middle school level as a new budget initiative at Thursday night's Milford School Committee meeting, according to the committee's agenda.
Also at the meeting, Milford Schools Superintendent Robert Tremblay will provide an update on the Woodland School building project, as well as an update on the district's current hospitality and tourism management and workforce programs. Tremblay also plans to discuss a new partnership with the Cambridge Institute of International Education that would further expand global learning opportunities for students in Milford.
Dr. Kevin McIntyre, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment, plans to provide an update on the current kindergarten assessment and proposed future assessments connected to a full-day kindergarten grant that Milford Public Schools receives from the state. McIntyre will speak to each school to identify classrooms that will field test the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) exam, among other topics.

The Milford School Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 in the Milford High School Teachers Resource Center.
