Milford 'Deck The House' Contest Back For 2021 Holiday Season

MILFORD, MA — A town-wide holiday decorating contest is coming back to Milford this season. Residents who deck-out their homes will be eligible to win prizes, and be featured on Milford TV.

The Milford Cultural Council, Milford TV, MyFM 101.3, Milford Permanent Firefighters Association Local 2140, Milford Downtown Revitalization Committee and the Milford Area Chamber of Commerce are once again sponsoring one of Milford’s newest holiday traditions, the Deck the House! outdoor holiday display contest. All Milford residents are invited to create their best possible outdoor holiday decor and lights display to share with the community.

Deck the House! officially kicks off Nov. 15 and will be open to all Milford residents. The contest will award first, second, and third-place prizes for best residential displays. Prizes include gift baskets full of gift cards to local Milford businesses. The first place winner will also be treated to a “Firefighter for a Day” experience — an opportunity for the recipient to tour the station, meet the firefighters, try on fire-fighting gear, eat lunch with the firefighters, and even go for a ride on a fire truck.

To enter, contest participants should complete the online form located here. After completing the form, all participants are invited to share their photos on Facebook and Instagram and to tag the Milford Cultural Council (Facebook: MilfordCulturalCouncil and Instagram: MilfordCultural).

Milford TV will film video of each participating home for a holiday showcase special that will air Dec. 17. Milford TV will also provide links to video of each participating home on the Milford TV website for viewing before the public voting period ends.

The last day to enter Deck the House! is Dec. 6.

The contest will be judged by a panel of judges and the public. The public voting period will open Dec. 12. Details on how to cast votes will be made available before Dec. 10.

Rules: Contest participants must agree that photos and video of their homes will be used for public promotion on local social media and their street address will be included in an online map of all decorated homes. Contest participants must also agree to allow Milford TV to film and showcase their displays. Participants will be asked to be interviewed by Milford TV, but this is not required to participate. Contest sponsors are allowed to participate, but are not eligible to win prizes.
