Milford Fundraiser Supports Dad's Boston Marathon Run For Cancer
Nathaniel McMahan is running in the 2021 marathon to support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where his daughter was treated.

MILFORD, MA — An upcoming fundraiser in Milford will support a local father's 2021 Boston Marathon run, which he's doing to support a cancer center that helped heal his daughter.
Milford's Goldfish Swim School at the end of September will hold a family swimming event to help Nathaniel McMahan reach his goal of raising over $13,000 for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
In 2018, McMahan's preschool-aged daughter, Caroline, was diagnosed with kidney cancer. After an operation at Dana-Farber and months of chemotherapy and radiation, she's still cancer-free today.

"I am running the 2021 Boston Marathon with the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge because they saved my little girl's life and because I want to help them reach their goal of a world without cancer," McMahan said in a recent news release.
The Sept. 26 fundraiser will take place over two sessions between 3 and 4 p.m. and 4 and 5 p.m. for $40 per family. Outside of swimming, there will be food, balloon animals and a raffle featuring gifts from the Worcester Red Sox, Butterhouse Dog Daycare, the Hopkinton Center for the Arts, Lash Lounge Milford and many more local businesses.
