Milford Library, Nonprofit Collect Clothes For Troops

MILFORD, MA — National Guard troops and their families will get warm gifts this winter thanks to a charity drive organized by the Milford Town Library and the local nonprofit Thanks To Yanks.

Library youth services supervisor Sue-Ellen Szymanski set up a "mitten tree" at the library this holiday season, collecting items like hats, gloves, and scarves. The items were then donated to Thanks To Yanks, which was founded in Milford in 2006.

Thanks To Yanks founder Michael Shain will donate the collected items to the Massachusetts National Guard. The items will be distributed to troops and their families.
