MILFORD, MA — A town man knocked over a traffic pole along Main Street late Saturday night, according to police. Milford police said he was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Just before midnight on Saturday, Patricio Mota, 43, drove his Nissan Altima into the pole near the intersection of Water and Main streets south of Draper Memorial Park, police said. He then continued driving, making a turn down Franklin Street — right where Milford police headquarters is located.

Police caught up to Mota near the intersection of Franklin and Chestnut streets. He was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
