Milford Man Files To Run For State House Seat Held By Murray
Candidates running for the 10th Worcester House seat will be on the November ballot.

MILFORD, MA — A Milford resident has filed paperwork to run as a Republican for the 10th Worcester House seat, setting up a challenge for longtime incumbent Democrat Brian Murray in 2022.
Robert Hansen, 41, filed papers Wednesday organizing a campaign committee, a key step in making a run for state office. Like all candidates, Hansen would still have to gather signatures to get his name on the ballot.
"I think the voters should have a choice when it comes to their elected officials. I have some new and fresh ideas that I will flesh out as the campaign happens. For now, I just want to get my name on the ballot," he said via email on Wednesday.

Murray first won the 10th Worcester House seat in 2016, facing off against Republican Sandra Biagetti. He defeated Biagetti a second time in the 2018 general election, but has not faced a challenger — either in a primary or general election — since. Democrat John Fernandes held the seat between 2007 and 2016.
Murray said Wednesday that he will be running for another term in 2022.
