Milford Man Wins $1 Million On MA Billion-Dollar Scratch Ticket
Bernard Fox pulled over to wait out a traffic jam — a decision that led him to become an instant millionaire (before taxes).
MILFORD, MA — Never has a traffic jam been so lucrative.
Milford resident Bernard Fox scratched a lucky $1 million prize on a scratch ticket he bought while taking a break from a traffic jam, according to lottery officials. Fox won the seven-figure prize on a “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” ticket — the state's newest scratcher, and the one boasting the highest single prize.
The billion-dollar game comes with a steep $50 price tag, but lottery officials say it has the highest payout percentage of any ticket at 82%.
