Milford Man's $4 Million Win A Lottery First
He bought the winning ticket on New Year's Day at a West Street store.

MILFORD, MA — A Milford man's lucky lottery ticket purchase has made a little bit of state lottery history.
William Ruane purchased a $10 “Diamonds 50X” scratch ticket on New Year's Day at the Milford Mini Mart, 194 West St. His $4 million prize is the first time anyone in the state has won that much on a “Diamonds 50X” scratcher.
Ruane took the lump sum prize of $2.6 million and plans to use it to buy a car and set up a trust fund for his son, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission. The Milford Mini Mart will get a $40,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
