MILFORD, MA — U.S. troops serving overseas won't miss the 2022 Girl Scouts cookie season.

The Milford nonprofit Thanks To Yanks recently took a donation of dozens of boxes of the special cookies from troops based in Douglas, Uxbridge, Northbridge and Whitinsville. The treats will soon be shipped overseas to troops, Thanks To Yanks founder Mike Shain said.

Thanks To Yanks, is a non-political 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to support military members, veterans and their families. Founded in 2006, the nonprofit began as an annual tribute dinner to recognize the sacrifices military families endured and to honor the victims and rescue personnel in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
