Milford Pizza, Golden House, Zen Bakery: Milford's Health Inspections
Hairnets need to be warn, loose debris in the ice cream, dirty ovens. Milford's health inspector visited 38 food establishments in June.

MILFORD, MA—The following inspections were supplied by the Milford Board of Health:
- The Alamo 55 Medway Rd. 6-2-16 Violations here include the following. Do not leave the back door to the restaurant open this could allow for the entrance of pest, clean the floor in the walk in cooler especially in the back under the wire rack, need a new door for the basement screen door fits poorly and is damaged, need better organization/control of the basement work area where it’s becoming cluttered, knives need to be clean and sanitized before storage in the knife rack this same needs to be cleaned also, dispose of one fry basket that has seen it’s better days (wires were frayed), utensil equipment cutting board storage could improve in the main kitchen Clean the wall or replace with cleanable surface). A re-inspection is scheduled. Re-inspection conducted and all violations corrected.
- Burger King 22 Beaver St. 6-2-16 Multiple leaks in the mop sink room mop sink faucet sink and porcelain sink duct tape and electrical tape are not acceptable repairs.
- Acapulcos 231 E. Main St. 6-1-16 Violations here include the following. Need to cover several foods in the first walk in cooler, clean the base of the three door freezer, clean the floor at the corner where the 2 large single burner stoves are located, need to clean and sanitize cutting boards more often, stainless steel surfaces of the cold holding unit under the main line needs to be cleaned, and reviewed instructed the owner regarding bare hand contact with RTE foods. This critical violation was corrected immediately.
- 5 Guys 9 Medway Rd. 6-1-16 Need additional sanitizer added to the compartment in the sanitizing section of the 3 bay sink. This critical violation was corrected immediately.
- Quick Mart 58 S. Main St. 6-6-16 Need paper towel for the employees restroom.
- Bills Pizza 126 Main St. 6-6-16 Violations here include the following. One food product not covered in the walk in cooler, when working with food hair restraints must be worn, before you cover the mixing bowl for the floor mixer make sure it is cleaned and sanitized, clean and sanitize the manual can opener. Cantino Goyano 163 Main St. 6-6-16 Violations here are the following. In the back prep room bags of food cannot be stored on the floor and bags must be closed tightly and could be better organized, dishwashing room hand sink must be equipped with soap and paper towel, hand sink at customer service area also must be equipped with soap and paper towel, and post employee hand washing sinks must have signs posted.
- Applebee’s 91 Medway Rd. 6-3-16 Need paper towel for the hand sink at the back prep area, foods need to be covered in the Traulsen cooler at the back of the main line, and water for the scoop well must be running to free loose food debris for the food scoops.
- D.O.C. 50 Maple St. 6-7-16 Clean and disinfect the hand sink under the fan next to the three bay sink, and a critical violation that requires a next day re-inspection. The dish machine was not adding sanitizer to the cycle. Ecolab has been called and will be out to service the machine. They do have a three bay sink for a back up. A re-inspection is scheduled for 6-8- 16 Dish washer repaired violation corrected.
- Unienvious MA 151 Main St. 6-7-16 Two violations here. Need to store large bag of rice off the floor and in the back storage room one chest freezer has a defective lid exposing insulation. This is to be properly repaired or replaced with a new unit.
- Zen Bakery 146 A S. Main St. 6-6-16 Violation here include the following. The three bay sink in the Gluten free area needs cleaning and sanitizing, ceiling tiles are to be replace where needed, hand sink in the mixing room (traditional one) needs to be in operating condition, and second dishwashing room needs better care and maintenance.
- Central Tavern 31 Central St. 6-7- 16 One container of chicken wings not covered in the Beverage Air cooler.
- Domino’s 2 Cape Rd. 6-13 16 Violations here include the following. Clean the exterior of the walk in cooler (the panels), back door of the restaurant cannot be left open this will allow for the entrance of pest and insects, clean and disinfect the employee hand sink, and need a thermometer inside the three door prep cooler.
- Chim Thai 196 E. Main St. 6-10-16 Need to increase the hot water in the men’s restroom, and need to increase the chlorine value for the dish machine a re-inspection is scheduled. Violation corrected.
- Friendly’s 17 Medway Rd. 6-10-16 Violations here include the following. In the True freezer at the main line a visible thermometer is needed, need and enclosed ice scoop to safely protect the ice scoop, and clean and disinfect the hand sink at the waitress station.
- Dairy Queen 190 West St. 6-8- 16 Violations here include the following. Hamburger in the Continental freezer must be protected until they are used, need to clean and disinfect the mop sink and surrounding area, and increase time period that water is running in the men’s room for the hand sink.
- E.M.C.U. 21 Maple St. 6-13- 16 Violations here are box of canisters of sugar cannot be stored on the floor in the dry goods storage room, two food products not covered in the walk in cooler, boxes of food products not covered tightly in the walk in freezer, and critical violation no hot water for one employee hand sink. This critical violation was corrected the next day.
- Double Tree 11 Beaver St. 6-14-16 Need to cover food products in one 4 door cooler and a walk in cooler.
- Honey Dew Donuts 140 S. Main St. 6-15- 16 No violations here very well maintained.
- Prezo’s 299.5 E. Main St. 6-15-16 Violations here include the following. Clean all stainless steel surfaces around the main line area this includes under the stoves the char broiler and the flat top grill, clean interior of the top microwave oven, cover foods not covered in main line prep coolers, and repair ceiling light fixture in the secondary smaller kitchen area.
- Golden House 93 Water St. 6-13-16 Following violations exists. Need a visible thermometer for the Frigidaire Freezer, do not store cardboard on a cutting board surface, clean and sanitize the manual can opener, need a new butcher block cutting block, clean surface area of the wok station and prep cooler, also need to have dish washer service to be sure level of chlorine in being used in the dish machine. A re-inspection is scheduled. Re-inspected and found violations corrected.
- Honey Dew 118 Prospect St. 6-17-16 Do not prop back door open to prevent insects or pest entrance to the facility, and one food strainer disposed of due to excessive wear.
- Sal’s Pizza 206 E. Main St. 6-17-16 In the outside walk in unit clean the cooling unit fan guards and the entire cooling unit and do not cover foods with paper towel.
- Milford Pizza Palace 8 Beach St. 6-21-16 Violations here include the following. Cover cheese and sauce in the walk in cooler, clean and sanitize the dough hook for the floor mixer, do not store bag of flour on the floor, and clean the floor around the main line cooking equipment.
- Hannaford 7 Medway Rd. 6-21-16 One violation here. Need to safely cover food products in the walk in seafood cooler.
- Tokyo Steak House 121 Depot St. 6-20-16 Violations here include the following. Do not cover food products with cloth in the walk in freezer, clean the exterior and door guides for the “True” two door glass cooler, knives are to be clean and sanitized before storage in the knife rack, and clean the left side of the wok station.
- Waters Co. 5 Tech Drive. 6-27- 16 Violations here include the following. Need to clean (scrub) the interior of the convection oven, clean interior of the oven cracks crevices hinges etc., and clean the steel shelf under the flat top and char broiler at the grill area.
- Truffles Grill and Wine Bar 198 E. Main St. 6-24-16 Violations here include the following. Need to cover some foods in the walk in cooler, clean the floor in this same unit, and be sure knives are clean and sanitized before storage in the knife rack.
- Pizza Chef 179 Main St. 6-24-16 In the walk in cooler some food racks need to be cleaned due o rust and food debris build up, and store utensils in the plastic container with the handles facing the user.
- Waters Co 34 Maple St. 6-24-16 Foods in cardboard boxes cannot be stored on the floor in the walk in freezer and some foods not covered, clean exteriors of both knife racks, and knives are to be clean and sanitized before storage in the knife rack.
- Coimbras 55 Water St. 6-27-16 Violations here include the following. Clean all shelves in the dry goods storage room and cover two foods, clean the floor area in and around the 3 bay sink move things and do a through job, clean and scrub the 6 burner stove top, do not hand utensils on a soiled screen wash rinse and re-sanitize these utensils, cold held pork at 60 degrees disposed of and witnessed. A re-inspection is scheduled. Violation corrected 7-7- 16
- Shaws 1 Prospect St 6-29- 16 Violations here include the following. In the produce prep room knives are to be clean and sanitized before storage in the knife rack food debris found on two blades near the handle, clean exterior of the small seafood freezer next to the lobster tank, the hot water lever for the hand sink that serves the deli area sticks, clean exterior (door guides edges etc) of the hot holding unit at the end of the deli area, floor needs to be cleaned in the meat dept., floors in the dairy case walk in cooler and the ice cream walk in freezer off the grocery area in the back both need to be cleaned swept out.
- 7-11 127 Main St. 6-28-16 Back room storage area needs some attention cleaning and organizing, the walk in cooler is also in need of some care and organization, and need paper towel for the hand sink next to the ice machine.
- Stop and Shop 196 E. Main St. 6-28- 16 In the small cooler area off the small deli prep area a box of food stored on top of another container of food not covered adequately, clean out the floor great in the cut fruit prep room, and mold and mildew in various area in the walk in dairy case cooler.
- Scioli’s Pizza Bar 146 S. Main St. 6-30- 16 Violations here include the following. Need additional visible thermometers where missing or buried, chest freezer way in the back has to go it well beyond repair and cannot be properly safely repaired (will be gone by the re-inspection date), in another room way, way in the back is a room loaded with “stuff” that has to be of no value or use that can be disposed of, do not store food products on the floor in cardboard boxes in the walk in cooler, main corridor again needs some order made of it put things where they belong, clean the four burner stop top and the back of the fryers, replace two cutting surfaces for two prep coolers, clean the utility draw under the stainless steel table where utensils are stored, and clean the bar floor area move things in order to this completely. A re-inspection is scheduled.
- Children’s Korner 2 Cuniff Ave. 6-30-16 There are no violations here.
- Evergreen Ed. Center 345 Fortune Blvd. 6-30- 16 There are no violations here.
