MILFORD, MA — Several Milford police officers are being credited with saving a missing Hopedale man after a daylong search over the weekend.

According to Chief James Falvey, Hopedale police contacted Milford on Sunday morning to ask for help finding the man. Local police focused their search on a wooded area between Route 85, I-495 and the Walden Woods development near the Hopkinton line because the missing man's cellphone was sending a signal from that area.

After about seven hours of searching — including with ATVs and a drone — Milford police officers Crystal Gallagher and Jacob Campbell found the man in the woods trapped inside an overturned vehicle.

The man was alert and conscious, but was in pain. A Hopkinton Fire Department ambulance took him to Milford Regional for treatment.

Falvey credited Sunday shift supervisor Sgt. Joseph Rizoli with leading the search and Deputy Chief Robert Tusino for operating the drone. A state police K9 and Hopkinton police and firefighters also helped with the search.
