Milford Police Respond To Shots Fired Call

The incident happened early Sunday morning in a neighborhood north of downtown Milford.

MILFORD, MA — Milford officers over the weekend responded to a neighborhood north of the downtown area on a report of shots fired.

The officers responded to near Overlea and Richmond avenues at around 12:45 a.m. Sunday after a neighbor heard what he thought were "several" gunshots. The officers searched the area, but were unable to locate anything, according to police records.

The incident comes about one week after a man was wounded during an armed robbery in the downtown area.

On Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m., police responded to a call from a man who said he had been shot while buying marijuana at 48 North Bow St. During the drug deal, two men robbed the victims of cash, police said. One of the robbers used a handgun to hit one of the victims, and the gun went off. Fragments hit one of the victims, who was treated at Milford Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

In the days after the incident, police arrested Christian Estrada and David Abrego, both on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and unarmed robbery.
