Milford Pre-Town Meeting Forum Set For Tuesday
Electronic voting, medical marijuana, police chief hiring, and more will be discussed at the Oct. 22 pre-Town Meeting forum.

MILFORD, MA — Town Meeting members and the public are invited to attend a pre-Town Meeting forum in Milford on Tuesday night. During the meeting, city officials will review the 10 most asked-about items on the Warrant for the Oct. 28 meeting.
At the top of the list is a switch to electronic voting, which many towns already use (watch Natick's Town Meeting members use it here). But there plenty of other important items will be discussed — plus two bonus articles that may come up if time allows. Here's the full list:
- Switching to electronic voting for the 2020 Town Meeting
- Rezoning 426 and 434 East Main to a business park
- A petition to the General Court for special legislation about the hiring of a police chief
- Transferring 17 town parcels to the Conservation Commission
- Upgrading the AV technology in upper Town Hall
- The 2020 police personnel budget
- Amending zoning for medical marijuana treatment centers
- Funds from Sira Naturals being directed to the stabilization fund
- Bids for the sale of the former Purchase Street School
- Town employee salary and benefits
- Residency requirement for Personnel Board members (time permitting)*
- Vacation leave for employees (time permitting)*
The pre-Town Hall meeting happens at 7 p.m. on Oct. 22 in the upper Town Hall.
